Can I record using my CD burner and send you the disk?
Yes you can. There will be an extra charge for converting the audio into our system this way and keep in mind the delay the mail system will add. Your sermons will be 1-2 weeks delayed in getting online depending on the mail. Our preference would be you upload the file to our server.
Can I record and send you a cassette tape?
No. At the point we are not set up to capture off cassette tape. Our preference would be you upload the file to our server.
I do not have a digital audio recorder. How can I still work with Podcast Conduit?
We will be more than happy to help you in the purchase, setup, and operation of this type of equipment. We will be creating instructional video, and will hopefully have affiliate links as well.
Do we need to record an introduction of what the message is about, and who is giving the message each week?
This is totally up to you. We at Podcast Conduit are more than happy to do that for you as well as add a music bed to the beginning and end of each weeks message. Some churches prefer to just have a little music bed and get right to the message, other just want to get right to the message. Let’s talk through the options and your needs and find out what would be best for you and your listeners.
We also want to work with one of our local radio stations to have our message rebroadcast. Is the finished podcast file something we can give them or direct them to?
The finished podcast file will be a high quality .mp3 file for easy and fast download. We should confirm the type of file your radio station would prefer. If they prefer other file formats like .wav or .bwf we can make that conversion for you.
OK. Our message audio file needs to be hosted on a server for the podcast to work. Do we need to set that up and pay for that?
No. That is all included in our service. The set up, and the hosting fee.
You say you’ll make our message available on major networks. Is that separate hosting fees for each network?
No. Just one hosting needs to happen. We send the link or RSS to each network we’ll put you on and they all access the same audio file.
Will we be able to have this accessible on our own church website?
Absolutely. We’ll send you the link as well. We will not be responsible for putting that link on your church’s website, but we’ll send you the link and tell you how to do it so people can access and listen right from your church’s website too if they would like.
If listeners find our podcast on one of the major networks and want to find out more about our church, is that possible?
Yes. We will put direct links from each of the major networks you are on back to your church’s website.
What happens if in the future we choose to continue to podcast our sermons but we decide not to use Podcast Conduit? What happens to our messages already online?
First, of course we would hate to see you go, but if you choose we would transfer the hosting fee directly to you and remove you from the Podcast Conduit Network. We will leave you on the other networks, and we will only be providing fee based support should issues occur.
What if my church doesn’t have it’s own website?
Not a problem. The podcasting service will still work without you having one, we just won’t put links back to your website. We can put information about your church directly on the network pages as well as embedding it into the audio file. If you would like a website and need help creating and building one, we have web developers that would be happy to assist you with that.
Why audio podcasts? What about video?
We all lead very busy lives. With an audio podcast listeners can consume your content on-the-go. People can listen as they commute, walk the dog, wait for children at sports practices, on planes/trains, and even on the treadmill. Not everyone has the time to devote to sitting in front of a screen to watch your message. We’re not saying video isn’t important. If we have enough interest and requests from our clients we will also start to offer video podcasting services as well. It is our feeling that both are good but we would not recommend video only. When we offer the video option it will be along with an audio podcast.
How will people listen to my content?
There will be a number of ways that people will be able to listen to your content. Most people today carry smart phones and with the apps in those smart phones people will be able to listen directly from their phone as well as subscribe to your podcast. This means they will be notified as soon as your new message is released. People will also be able to listen on their computers, tablets, and even through devices like Apple TV and other boxes that can access streaming content. Some new car stereo’s will even access streaming content as well.
If we have our own archive we’d like to put online with our current podcasts, can you do that for us as well?
Yes we can look at this. There would be additional charges involved for this service and we would have to do this on a slower time frame as keeping up with your current content and the current content of all those we serve would be our first priority. We would discuss with you and try to set reasonable time frames for completion ahead of time.
